Help making a first time website for art hobby?

I want to make a website where family, friends and perhaps even people to who wan to look at and buy my artwork. Any suggestions of where to start - what engine or program can help me build and maintain a nice website

umm i would start maybe with a piczo site and then like e-mail the site to all ur friends

and if that is good u can also send ur site into the newspaper

and just get ur site reconized
