Question:

Help making text with MS Paint?

I'm trying to make a little icon for a website I just joined. The icon must be 14 pixels high and 100 pixels long, so I resized the canvas to that.

That box is too small for me to work with, so I zoomed in. But when I zoom in, then try to add text, the text icon is gray and unclickable. It works when I don't zoom in though... but I can't see anything when it's that little.

Why is it being difficult?!

  1. make your icon 10x the size first (according to your numbers 140 x 1000)

then create the text in the large version

then resize the icon back down, (using the stretch & skew function)

the text won't be great but hey that's paint

  2. Because its MS Paint and its not really that good. Possibly try downloading Paint.net (http://www.getpaint.net/ and click on "Paint.NET v3.35" at the top right)... its 100% free and about 1'000'000 times better than MS paint - see if that works any better.

  3. Make it in a size that you can work with then resize it. Use the select tool (the broken dotted lines) select arount it then "cut" then paste it back . When you paste it back you can grab the corner with double arrow and shrink it. Get it the size you want then click inside the white part. Then grab the grey part with double arrow and shrink it around the icon. Now save it It will be the size you want
