My wife is almost 44 years old. You could say that if she hasn't stopped now, she'll probably never stop. But it is driving me batty. She is now claiming that she doesn't even know that she is doing it. How can you not know? I think she is trying to push my buttons. I need to know how to combat this onslaught of popping. I mean it gives me visions of snatching that gum out myself. I leave the room or area, but what can you do if it is the car?

  1. just ask her to not chew gum around you because it bothers you.  if she doesn't stop, you obviously have other issues besides gum popping.

  2. fight back, chew some gum with your mouth open loud enough so she can hear it until she gets annoyed and when she tells you to stop it say you didnt realize that you were chewing like that, and if she tells you to stop your chewing tell her you'll stop if she stops, compromise and everyones happy
