  1. I think you should stikk with a more current fighter that your class and teacher will know of. Go with Bernard Hopkins. Great story behind him. Your report will basically write itself. He got sentenced to 18 years in prison while only in the 11th grade. Great story.

In my source box is the link to his pic.

  2. Here are three boxers who have had movies made about them that may be good just for that reason

    1. Jim Braddock "the Cinderella Man" may be a good one because of the movie that just came out. You can explain what is fact and where the director may have taken liberties.

    2. Rubin Carter "Hurricane"

    3. Jake Lamotta "The Raging Bull"

Just a thought sometimes it is fun and rewarding to see a movie about someone that you have learned something about.

  3. So many to choose from.

If you want to go with past greats, just to name a few:

    Muhammad Ali

    Rocky Marciano

    Jack Johnson

    Sugar Ray Robinson

    Julio Cesar Chavez

If you want to stick with present day fighters, then:

    Floyd Mayweather, Jr.

    Roy Jones, Jr.

    Bernard Hopkins

    Oscar De La Hoya

  4. Julio Cesar Chavez.  He has a great story and following.  He was also involved in a very controversial fight against Meldrick Taylor!

  5. The Greatest uh..............Muhammad Ali DUH!!!

  6. either joe louis (first african american boxer), muhhamad ali (the greatest), or goerge foreman (6th best)

  7. george foreman

  8. I'm not much of a fan, but Johnny Tapia makes for a compelling story, and it's not an obvious choice.

Maybe you could do a report on Max Schmeling, there are some interesting things to his story that were overshadowed by the politics of his era.

  9. Jack Johnson, boxer-wikipedia
