Ok I had marching band practice and i had to run 2 laps. i missed dinner the night before, i never eat breakfast, i forgot my lunch, and practice is 5pm to 8:30 pm, so i couldn't eat dinner. we had to stand up with no sitting breaks the whole time, and i had no water. then my head got light and sweaty and i sat and almost got yelled at. then 2 days later, i was exercising with my mom and i felt the same way, but this time i didn't miss meals. i felt faint too. my band director asked me if i had diabetes, and i said no, although I'm not sure. I'm a 13 year old girl and I'm about 137lbs and I'm 5'10" or 11", if that has to do with anything. I'm also anemic.

  1. Missing meals is not good, and could have contributed to this, but there might be something else going on as well.  Have your mother get you to the family doctor, quick.

  2. Dont worry about it just starting tomorrow eat peanut butter drink some orange juice have a healthy lunch and dinner and for running run with a water bottle and make sure you stay hydrated ;D

dont go to a doctor because theres no point because theres nothing wrong wit you youre just working youre self to hard:)

i do say that if it doesnt clear up in atleast a week then mabey talk to youre doctor over the phone:)

    hope i helped

if you have any other questions feel free to message me after all im 13 aswell lol

  3. The best thing to do is go to your doctor - just to be safe.

I know it seems an annoyance and may not seem necessary but you ought to be very careful.

Also, you must ALWAYS have breakfast, or you'll be missing the most important meal.

The causes of this are because of your diet and may also be lack of sleep.

Whatever way it is, you do not have enough energy that is provided by your breakfast.

  4. Sounds like you have low blood pressure.I get this same lighthead feeling when I stand up.

But I want you to go to the doctor to be sure.

And you're not fat.For your height, your weight is normal.

But skinny people can get diabetes too so go to your doctor and be tested.

And anemia might have something to do with it.You need more iron in your diet.Start taking a multivitamin.

Also eat leafy green veggies. You can make spinach taste good by putting a little garlic on it and cheese. East lettuce, spinach, broccoli, etc. Beef has iron but don't overdo it on the beef.Have it only about once a month.

  5. When I go for a long period of time without eating I start feeling faint too.  Doing all of that activity and not eating is not healthy and can make you sick.  If you start to feel faint duing band practice again let your director know that you aren't feeling well and need to eat something.  It doesn't matter if your diabetic or not.  You need to eat.  Hope this helps and good luck!!!

  6. Yeah I agree, I'd go see a doctor.

  7. Meals are very important in a growing child's life, and so is plenty of water. It's good to hear that you are exercising with your mom.

  8. i have band practice and i can sympathize w/ u, u should at least try to bring a little snack, and a bottle of water, they should have like a water jug out their so ya'll can't dehydrate, i know it has nothin to do w/ u eating breakfast b/c i don't eat my breakfasts (sometime) and ur parents should have left over food for u to eat when u get home (tell them that) the band ppl should let u have at least 1 break, if ur anemic ask ur doctor for his advice (or hers)

  9. Make sure you're eating enough! i dont think there is anything wrong with you except that your not eating right!

  10. my daughter has something similar and we took her to the doctor and had a glucose tolerance test ran. it showed that she was hypoglycemic. when she has those attacks she is to drink some orange juice and eat something light like peanut butter crisp. she still will not eat breakfast like the dr ordered but i think she is handling the episodes better now

  11. you should definitely see a doctor

  12. anemia has alot to do with feeling faint and light headed, however try ot get into a doctor soon, and maybe try starting on  a vitamin that is specially made for those with anemia.

  13. your marching band has 13 year olds?

anyways. i got dizzy and almost fainted the other day too during marching practice. it was really hot and i was most likely dehydrated.  always make sure you're getting enough water. not just the day of practice, but constantly be getting water in you.

if you have diabetes, you will be losing a lot of weight, having to pee alot, and you will be irritable.

and take iron pills, that will help w/the anemia
