  1. 1 teaspoon of virgin olive oil, 1/4 pound ground turkey, 1 small carrot chopped, 1/4 cup green beans, 1 cup of unseasoned stuffing bread cubes, 1/2 tablespoon of butter, 1/2 teaspoon of flour, 2 cups of turkey or chicken stock.       In a medium skillet, heat the EVOO, 1 turn of the pan, over medium heat. Add the turkey and cook until light brown, about 2 minutes. Add the chopped carrot and cook for 5 minutes. Add the peas and lower the heat to low. Stir in the bread cubes and remove from the heat.

In a small skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Whisk in the flour, then add 1 cup turkey stock and cook, whisking constantly, until the gravy thickens, about 3 minutes . Remove from the heat.

Soften the stuffing with the remaining 1 cup stock. Place in a bowl for your pup and let cool for about 5 minutes. Top with the gravy and let cool for another minute before serving.

  2. Puppy food stew;

1 cup hamburger meat, stir-fried in 1 tbsp olive oil

    2 hard-boiled eggs, chopped

    1/2 cup cooked brown rice

2 jars of baby food veggies (peas, green beans, carrots, spinach)

    2 tbsp fat-free cottage cheese

Combine all ingredients and cool before serving.

Store left overs in the fridge.

  3. Dog's like consistency. Regularity is key. Puppies belly's are very versatile and don't take well to mixing up their food daily.

When my little one was a pup I'd give him Hill's Science Diet small bites. He loved it and never overindulged. He would eat slowly and calmly.

I found that doggie books were best for information on things to do and not do when it comes to first time mommy's of puppies.

G'luck and congrats on your new little one.

  4. Every five pounds the dog weighs is a cup of food.

I wouldn't recommend giving him different dinners every week or day, it will eventually give him bad eating habits and make him really picky and refuse to eat if he doesn't like what is served to him that time.

Also, hard crunchy food is the best to keeping their teeth clean and help them have a healthy jaw.

Keeping him on a regular diet of one food type keeps his digestive system regular and prevents upset stomach.

Since he's used to how the breeder was feeding him (which is for sure one food type regularly) I would ask the breeder what brand he's been eating.  This way he won't have an upset stomach from the food change (which all pets get when they've been eating one kind, then get switched over).

Though, it isn't bad to give your pup or dog different treats every now and then.  So that should help if you want to do a little something special. : )
