  1. We are recycling almost none of our clothing.

Since the introduction of polyester cotton blends, it has become hopeless to use post consumer cloth for recycling. It has become impossible to presort to have no polyester.

You may find previously used clothing at Goodwill.

When there is no recycling facility we have to accumulate truck sized lots of recyclables to be hauled to a recycling depot. That is mostly a community project rather than an individual.

But it may call for an individual to organize it.

  2. well, i got this book and its great (that myspace book, i forget the name, it isnt in front of e)

anyway, here are some tips off the top of my head...

unplug everything when it is not in use (even tv, computer, etc.) you know those power strips that you can turn on and off, get one of those and its easier

take public transportation, ride a bike, walk when you can. if you must drive, more specifically on freeways, dont have windows down, causes more drag, more gas, more emissions and so on. try and carpool once in awhile, i know its hard we all go different places at different times but try...

plastic bottles....you know the kind water comes in....and almost all lotions, soaps, milk etc, try and use a reusable container for water. it will help.

use less water. when taking a shower, if you take warm ones, when its warming up, put a bucket there and then water plants, the dog, something so you dont waste it...and try not to use air conditioner, it wastes electricity

but anyways as for the book (i cant remember much more) it says myspace on the cover. something about our community. its at target (that is where i got it) and its really great for tips and stuff.

in search engines like google or yahoo, just look up going green and you can come up with lots good luck!

  3. Every single small change that you can make has a huge impact, even the little things add up:

=Change light bulbs (one pack at a time if cost is an issue,     doesn't have to be all at once)

=Take your own reusable bags when shopping (I've already NOT used 1000's of bags from the grocery stores alone)

=Buy a large flower pot and start composting kitchen scrapes (it creates the richest soil ever! and you can even keep it on a balcony if you live in an apartment)

=Refilling your own water bottles is HUGE!

=Being more conscientious of turning things off around the house as I leave the room or am not using something

MOST IMPORTANTLY, start turning your diet GREEN!!!!  Organics are no joke!  We have to start cleaning our own bodies by not consuming so many chemicals and preservatives!

DON'T LET THE FACT THAT SOMETHING IS FDA APPROVED GIVE YOU A FALSE SENSE OF SECURITY,  REMEMBER THE FDA IS THE ONE THAT HAS APPROVED ALL OF THE CHEMICALS, PRESERVATIVES, AND ADDITIVES THAT ARE KILLING US TODAY!  AND THE FDA DOES NOT APPROVE ANYTHING THAT IS NATURAL BECAUSE IT CAN'T BE PATENTED AND MONOPOLIZED!!!!!!!

I'm no Tree Hugger by any means, but these few these that I have changed already sure makes me feel good!

  4. Well, there is different ways. You could buy a hybrid car or you could change your lightbulbs to be more ebergy efficent.

You could use the same water bottle.

To buy recylced clothing, go to walmart, the shirts are made of plastic bottles.
