Help me build an electromagnet please?

with a strength of .5T please. I have 1.2 volts of power...about 5 feet of wire, and no bigger than 3-4 inches.

What gauges wire should I use?

Do I need a longer wire?

How many loops?

What material core?

- These are the equations, but I am not quite proficient at using them:

B = uN(I)

I = V/R

R = pL/A

coil it around as many times as you can and use an ammeter to measure the Ts.
