Question:

Help me choose a mp3 player for my mom?

I want to buy a mp3 player for my mom for her birthday. She's not very good with computers, so it needs to be user friendly, she's a runner so it needs to be small and handy and a clip would be awesome, it doesn't need a lot of space for songs, and it needs to be a good price because she won't accept it if I spend a lot of money on it.Let's review: user-friendly, small w/clip, only 1gb or 2gb, cheap, but it needs to work well enough so she doesn't just use it once and throw it away like that. Also if it came in lime green or red, it would be SO MUCH BETTER. I'm not so sure about the iPod shuffle, because she wouldn't be downloading music from Apple iTunes, she gets most of it from CDs ripped to the computer. This is most likely a factor.

Any suggestions?

  1. i would say ipod shuffle is a pretty good fit. its small, has a clip and u can use itunes to rip cds.

there is also Creative Muvo T100  and creative zen stone.

  2. I would definitely recommend the Sandisk Sansa Clip.  It comes in red, has a built-in clip, and has 2GB of memory in it.  It's super easy to use and is only about $60.  I got one for my Mom actually, and she's not very good with technology, but she hasn't had any trouble using it.  It's very simple to load with music as well, you can either sync it with Windows Media Player, or you can just use it as a drag and drop device and drag and drop files onto it like an external drive.  The controls are simple to use as well, and it has a bright OLED screen.  Besides playing music files, it also has an FM radio tuner and a voice recorder.  Best of all, in my opinion at least, you don't need any annoying software like iTunes to get music onto it.  Here it is: http://go.shopsansa.com/content/clip

  3. you can buy her an ipod nano/shuffle there quite cheep. and itunes is one of the easiest programs to put music on an ipod and they have great support if she has problems so go with ipod if you don't want complications.

  4. get her the ipod shuffle. it's tiny tiny and it isn't hard to use.
