I was interested in buying a good street bike and was having trouble finding the differences between some of the models. Due to money restraints i was looking into the 2004 models of all of the following:

Honda CBR 600RR, Suzuki GSX R600, Ducati Monster 620.

Please keep in mind that money is one of my main concerns.

  1. Those are all excellent bikes and i have either had or ridden all of them. Here are the big differences- The CBR is a light feeling bike, meaning that it is easy to ride in corners and handles very well. The Gixxer(GSXR) is the same but feels slightly heavier in deep corners at higher speeds. Both of these bikes are a very forward leaning riding position. Also the parts are easy to get and fairly cheap. The Duck(Ducati) is also an awesome bike but where the CBR and the Gixxer are inline four cylinder motors - which means high rpm's,the Duck is a V-Twin motor. That is definately not a bad thing,it just has a really different feel to it. The v-twin has more torque and lower rpm's which means it just makes power differently than the others but ultimately they all acheive the same goal. The only bad part about the Duck's is that it is VERY hard to get parts for them aftermarket and the price is unbelievably high!!! (I have 2 Ducati's) The only suggestion i would make to you is to go with the CBR for right now because the ease of riding them easily outweighs the others. Then after you get the hang of it definately look into other types or brands of bikes because they all are a blast to ride! Hope this helps!!
