Question:

Help me create an audio system...?

I got a brand new 2008 Dodge Charger two weeks ago, and I'm looking to put together a nice system for it. This is my first car; I've only owned trucks up til this point so I'm a little inexperienced here. I already have a Rockford Fosgate Punch P400-4 amp, an amp wiring kit, and a huge Dynamat bulk pack that I'm going to use in the car.

I need some recommendations for a nice head unit, some speakers (6x9'' front door and rear deck), and some nice subs. Price is no factor so any suggestions are welcome. On the speakers, I have brackets for switching a 6x9" opening to a 6-1/2" opening. Anyone have experience with those? Thanks.

  1. Alpine is one of the best when it comes to head units. Most Alpine head units have built in adjustable HPFs (high pass filters) to remove the bass from your smaller door & deck speakers so you do not need a amp for them. I replaced my 6x8s with 6-1\2s by using the adapters they work great. Most  6-1/2" componet sets will outperform 6x9s so that is a good swap. Focal makes some of the best component sets when it comes to good mids & highs. Most people have never heard of Focal but amoung Audiophiles it is top choice. Alpine components sound good too. There are a lot of good companies when it comes to subs. JL Audio, Fi, Kicker, Rockford Fosgate, Cerwin Vega and MTX all make high quality subwoofers..
