I was standing in the middle of a field with my childhood dog who has been decesed about 20 yrs now, and there was a fence and on the other side of the fence there was a standing, talking cow, lol. My dog approached the cow and the cow seemed aggressive, so I took my dog aside and explained to her not to go near or over the fence for the cow will eat her.

  1. This dream is about conflicting religious beliefs or traditions.

Dog represent either loyalty or tradition.  (You can't teach an old dog new tricks.. just as you can't usually get people to consider changing traditions that they hold dear.)

Your dog most likely represents the faith or beliefs you were taught as a child.

Cows often represent "sacred cows"... meaning traditions or religious customs that are extremely important to those who revere them!

Even though "sacred cows" may seem funny to an outsider, they are extremely serious to the ones who embrace them  They guard them ferociously and "show their teeth" whenever they are faced with another tradition or point of view.

Anyway, you must are in a situation where your tradition is in conflict with someone else's and they are pretty aggressive about their point of view.  You would rather avoid the issue altogether.

Do remember, however... they are likely dreaming you have a funny cow and they are trying to herd it into line with the help of their beloved farm dog!

  2. The animals in our dreams are often domestic rather than wild animals, and our familiarity with our pets is likely to give us a greater feel for their range of characteristics. If the animal is our own pet, we may relate to it more like a family member than an animal, as we know its  behaviours and moods intimately and have a strong emotional bond. Your pet's playful, devoted, aloof or mysterious nature may be what you are trying to work with in your dream.

Dogs symbolize devotion and faithfulness. Cows symbolize calm, slowness and maternity.

The fence represents a wilder, less tamed side of you, while the side which you are on with your childhood dog is the more comfortable and safe side, which you feel better in.

  3. Your someones child hood dog and they love you very much they are telling you not to go for the cow.
