  1. CG I would use med gold to accent your brown sofa.

  2. Yellow, creme and white. Something bright and appealing to the eye.

  3. use a nice biege or red color

  4. Pale yellow....or maroon?

  5. you should add a little fusia-dark purple...or mustard yellow

  6. use some red for curtains or some paintings with red on them. just a little contrast to a brown and light brown room

  7. you can use ivory white walls, green, red accessories and a golden lamp in the room. for rugs or carpets go with sandy tones.you can try textured walls or textured carpent. no design please. keep all solid tones. on the table you can put some golden apples with a  lime green basket.keep a bit of green grass in a pitcher in the corner. that way it wont be too office like. you can keep a slick golden lamp beside the sofa. keepit sleek, and white and clutter free.

  8. deep red and brown work really well together

  9. I like mirrors....

  10. If your walls are heavily textured, I love Sherwin Williams Chamois paint, with a 4:1 glaze in Umber.  Put the glaze on after the Chamois has dried, and then kind of rub it off lightly, and the glaze will stay in the grooves of the texture.  It's really warm and inviting.

Also, Red Barn in Sherwin Williams is a good accent color with Chamois, possibly paint one focal  wall with Red Barn.

    Just an idea.  Good luck!

  11. Neutral colors would work well! Even a shade of green would look good..

  12. Decorating depends on you.  Today almost anything goes.  REMEMBER:  You live there, you need to be comfortable in your own space.  It should calm, uplift, inspire...find what does that to you.

By the way, I love the sofa.  We also selected dark leather for our sofa, slightly different design, but very similar.  I decided what color fit me the best.  I had found an awesome accent peice (a deep red circluar shaped mirror) that I had fallen in love with.  I continued to find more items that matched that, and eventually picked a couple accent colors that worked well.  Depending on your space you could add wall hangings, pictures, rugs, tables, etc...  I'll leave this up to you.

You did a very smart thing finding a neutral sofa, you can always update pillows, curtains, and accent peices.  There are tools online you can use to help you get an idea of what you like.  I'd start with this site from Potterybarn.com that shows you examples of layouts.

Get an idea of what you like and what colors you want to surround yourself with.  If you love what Potterybarn does, go for that.  Or...perhaps you can get some ideas for do it yourself projects or...I have found that stores like Target will carry "knockoff" type items that are less expensive.

Once you know what you like, sign up for emails from stores like kohls.com, target.com, jcp.com, pier1.com, etc and they will send you emails of coupons and sales.  You can set up a free email account through yahoo or gmail that you can choose to send all your advertisment type emails to.  That way your main email that you use will not be overcome by ads.

Last tip...If you find something you like at a store go to google and type in the name of the company and then type coupon.  Example:  "JC Pennies coupons".  You can usually find printable coupons for in store shopping or codes for discounts (or free shipping) for online purchases.  I came across this one last week that had feedback from other users.  Looks like a good site.
