Help me figure out what this sauce is!?

Sushi resturaunt I go to has an appetizer called spicy salmon. It's just fish marinated in...something....and it's spicy but kinda sweet. In the middle of the plate they serve an avacodo, and it's drizzled with the same sauce.

Any ideas of a sweet, slightly spicy sauce that goes good on avacado? It's transparent, with a little pink to it, and is at a Japanese place.

Thanks!

  1. It is spicy sushi mayonnaise..here is an easy recipe..

Why do we like spicy mayonnaise so much..

Spicy mayonnaise sauce goes great with spicy tuna and spicy salmon. The "hotness" of the chili spices the sushi with an entirely different kind of "hotness" than that given from the wassabi and mayonnaise contributes to the "fatty" level.

Alright, let's make some spicy sushi sauce!

    Ingredients:

    1/2 cup mayonnaise

    2 tbsp hot chili

    1 tbsp hot sesame oil

    And... Stir

Stir in a small bowl to combine evenly. Once combined, use a spoon to load the newly made hot sauce into a baggie, and pinch a tiny hole in the bottom. In order to use the sauce, simply squeeze the baggie and let the sauce leave a trail of hotness along the roll.

    Bonito Flakes

Dried bonito flakes, known as katsuo-bushi or katsuobushi in Japanese cuisine, are flakes of dried, smoked bonito fish. They look similar to wood shavings. The "bonito" is a type of tuna, but may not be marketed as tuna in many countries.

Bonito flakes are used to make katsuobushi-dashi, the second most favored type of dashi (Japanese broth) for miso soup. Bonito flakes are also used for onigiri filling. Bonito flakes are also used to make ponzu sauce.

        * 1 Tbsp. rice wine vinegar

        * 1/2 cup dried bonito flakes

    PREPARATION:

Boil soy sauce in a pan. Add bonito flakes in the pan and cool it. Drain the soy sauce. Mix soy sauce, vinegar, and lemon juice.

  5. its probly a variation of sweet and sour sauce

  6. probally Wasabi... I know it is a thick substance but they could have thinned it using something else... and marinated the salmon in it
