I'm trying to find a 5.1 Speaker System with superior sound. Price isn't an issue.

What is the absolute best 5.1 Speaker System that I can hook up to my Computer? (I'm not talking about Speakers for my TV.)

These are the best speakers you can buy.

    Sense money isn't an issue

    You'll have to buy five.

Oh yea... I forgot to tell you they requier 4 Tube type amps for EACH Speaker.

Good Tube Amp's You'll need 20 of these so lets use the CADENZA DT

You will need to scroll down to the bottom of the page to see the amp.

This will only set you back about Let see...

    5 Speaker's $65,000 Each 5 X $65,000.00 = $325,000.00

10 Two Channle amps at $6500.00 per pair USD = $65,000.00

    So thats $390,000.00

You should buy a Preamp to use them. I'll let you pick that out

So will you be paying with Cash or Charge?

  2. If you are looking for computer speakers the best is probably the THX certified Z-5500 for $350 or less. If however you want GREAT sound then get a home theater receiver like a Yamaha RXV461 and some Energy RC Minis (2 Pair) an RC mini Center and an S10.3 Subwoofer. The package should go for around $2000. Use a great soundcard with an optical out and you're good!

Incedentally this still wouldn't be the best but it would be more geared toward the size most look for in a computer speaker. There really is no limit and if you are looking for even better please indicate.

  3. You can have a look at Logitech X-540 5.1-channel. The X-540  features two pieces of electronics designed to enhance your listening experience.

This is a review for it, you can have a look:

I find that a decent deal for it is only $65.

  4. Klipsch makes a nice multimedia speaker system. as does Harmon Kardon and Boston acoustics. I would look up these guys and see what they offer. Check out Infinity and JBL too.(they are owned by Harmon International now who also owns Harmon Kardon). Check Polk audio. These are all good speakers. But ultimately you will have to decide whos speakers sound the best to YOU.

If you are daring and want to add more than just speakers to your computer. Hook it up to your home theater system and check out Definitive Technology, in my opinion they are the top dog.  They make some of the most highly regarded home theater speaker systems you can buy. I have them and am really quite pleased. They sound fantastic to me.  You can do this using your 5.1 channel output on your pc and connect to your 5.1 channel input on your home theater(if you have one) If your sound card has a digital output you can use that instead for an even better experience. Good luck!!
