Hi all. Im looking for a special kind of chicken for my mom for her birthday. She wants a Cuckoo Maran chicken. Now I live in Altoona, Pa and I don't know where to look to find one. If I would have to have it shipped in or go get that could be worked out. I really don't want to do the incubating the eggs, her birthday is July 30 so I have to move fast. If you have any ideas or can help me please do. Thanks.

  1. Google "hatchery" .... I think there are a couple in your neck of the woods :)

  2. look in the phonebook

  3. Call me stupid, I am on a lead though in research. One thing, what does Pa stand for?

  4. I would do an internet for hatcheries. You should be able to find what your looking for.

  5. Look in your area for "Farm Supply" or similar stores.  Most of them carry all the accessories needed for farms, including livestock and they often have bulletin boards where you can find livestock available from local farmers as well.

  6. try to look in a barn

  7. All I can say is to get at least two because they are flock animals !!

Try looking in your local paper or google the cuckoo maran chicken club. Email the people there and they will get you in touch with people around your area. This is what I did to get some Derbyshire Redcaps and I now have 11 :)
