I have only been on one cruise and that was carnival inspiration 2 weeks ago. I want to plan a cruise for next year and have time to pay on it. I know most have spa's but i want something a little extra ordinary outside of that. I have been on cruisecritics.com but i would like to see more pictures with something written on the side of it. For example i liked a picture I saw with a bed on the side of the ship. I love little private areas and looking out at the water. I love good seasoned food. And as far as a destination it could be anywhere because i have only went to cozumel mexico. I would like to go somewhere where i can stay overnight at least one night and lay out on the beach where they will serve me drinks there too. Im 31yrs old and i want to do this alone. Just rest and relax with a minimum of kids on board.

  1. Celeberity, Princess and Cunard come to mind. Cunard is a bit pricy but it has little to no kids.

If i could be of any more assistance email me at Kirk.kelly@SixxPaktravel.com and i will help you out.

  2. http://www.royalcaribbean.com/home/exph....

-the new oasis of the seas from royal caribbean has a 7 Night Eastern Caribbean Cruise in Dec. 09.

I have cruised on majesty of the seas and the food and entertainment was amazing.

Norwegian offers a nice spa, suites or villas with private cabanas or pools and amazing food with the opportunity of freestyle cruising.

Specifically I enjoyed the Norwegian Pearl.

I experienced less kids on norwegian than royal caribbean but neither line had too many kids that i was bothered.

I have not experienced first hand but from clients, I understand Celebrity Cruises offers luxury accommodations.

Do you know a time frame you are looking to go? I would definitely avoid times where the kids are out of school.

If you have a more specific time frame, I can look into specific ships and itinerary options for you to help fit your specific needs.

  3. Meet with a good travel agent!  They are worth their weight in gold, and that is gold that YOU will not be paying.  I would stay away from Carnival if you want something a step up and a bit away from the continual party atmosphere and less crowded.  Holland America, Princess, and Celebrity come to mind.   Don't book for a "single partners program" -- that is a deal where you pay the "per person" price only for a double  cabin, and the cruise line may or may not put another solo traveler in there with you.  I have known people who have taken the gamble that the ship won't put another person in there, and they have ALL wound up with strangers!  Go ahead and pay the single suppliment, because it is worth it!  The only ship I know with single cabins is the QE2, which has been sold and is going to Dubai in November to become a floating hotel, so if you want to go alone and not share with a stranger you will simply have to pay the suppliment.  Some of those are hefty, and some are not.  Also, go ahead and pay for a veranda, which you will simply adore!  I personally won't go anywhere in the Caribbean except with a veranda, and have never regretted the extra cost for that -- there is nothing quite like having your own private veranda and being able to be out there late at night in your nightie watching the water go by or enjoying an early morning breakfast on your veranda while you watch the ship come into port!   As to being able to lay out on a beach and have somebody bring you a drink, go for a cruise line with its own private island -- several have those.  My favorite private island is Half Moon Cay, and that is Holland America, but I understand that the Princess island is great, too.  Now -- as to children on board, schedule your trip for when school is in session, and that will make the numbers of children minimal.  And HAVE FUN!

  4. I would also say that you should talk to a travel agent that specializes in cruising.

tell them your interests and be honest. they can help you with all the details of where you want to go, what cruiseline, what ship, time of year ,ect.

i really like princess cruiselines, holland america, and royal carribean.

    best of luck to you.
