Question:

Help me find an Audition song please!?

I am 14 years old and I am going to audition for a part in Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde at my school. I do not want a song from the actual musical.

I need something that can show my range (my teacher thinks I can only sing alto but I want to show I can do soprano too), and not a pop song as I want to look like I have a teacher.

Thanks in advance

  1. I dont know how to love him-Jesus christ Superstar

    Out of my dreams-Oklahoma

  2. How about Big Spender? I sang that for my standard grade exam and got a 1 for it ;)

Really anything from Andrew Lloyd Webber would be good as well. What's your favourite play, if any?

  3. The first thing that comes to mind is perhaps something from chitty chitty bang bang, it's been a long time since I've seen that film, but I recall the tunes being quite nice.

  4. Have you seen the musical "Annie"?

The song in that, Tomorrow, would be good, I should think. I sung it to get into my audtion-only school choir, and it's an easy-pleaser! Plus, it's full with dimension :)

(By the way, why not look some up on your search to see what songs other people have used in auditions, you never know, you could find something that suits you!)

  5. Phantom of the Opera - if you want a song from the musicals

Call me When you're Sober - Evanescence if you want something more modern
