Help me find an online home school program please?

I'm now 20 years old (I live in Pennsylvania) and I dropped out of high school when I was in 10th grade. As soon as I dropped out I enrolled in a local home school program. They gave me books and told me I had to do all the book work and then go back to them and then they will test me and give me my diploma. Well that didn't work for me. There was nobody there to get me to do it so I didn't. I then tried the next year with the same program, once again it didn't work. I am VERY serious about this and I REALLY want to get my diploma now but I don't know where to go to get it. I don't want to have to go to classes so an online program would be best. Does anyone have any suggestions on where to go to do this? I don't even know where to begin to look for a good online school. Thanks in advance

  1. Check out this site:

  2. Have you tried PDELA? It is an online distance learning academy. I am not sure of their age bracket but you could call them & find out. Ohio has the same except it's called OHDELA & it's the best online school I know of. You get your own computer, printer/scanner/fax machine. I'm also listing others that I have come across. You also may want to try ECOT, they do go up to the age of 21yrs, but not sure if they are in PA or not...but it wouldn't hurt to call them & ask.

  3. I hate to break to you, but you want that diploma, you need to do the work. Also why don't you go to a local community college and get your GED.

There is an online program i know where you can get your diploma , but you have to do the work, Having a diploma

means that you completed  the high school work

I also know where your getting at when asking about an on line program , your thinking because it's an online program that you can get away from not doing the work or participating is that right, you think that you can just breeze

through it and the schoo  will give you the diploma ,

JUST TO LET YOU KNOW AGAIN THAT HAVING DIPLOMA

IS A GIVEN  HONOR, NOT SOMETHING THAT CAN JUST BE GIVEN AWAY FOR FREE. YOU GOT THAT HUH!

I'm SO SICK OF PEOPLE LIKE YOU . WHO THINK THEY CAN GET BY LIFE BY DOING  NOTHING, YOU'RE LIKE A BUM IN THE STREETS ASKING FOR MONEY.They want money they can just go work for taco bell or something.

  4. The only online curriculum with which I am (at least marginally) familiar is called "K12".  But a question would be why, at 20, you want your diploma instead of pursuing a GED.  If you still want the diploma, I would contact the PA Dept of Education.  They should have the info that you need.  At least here in OH, it would be the place I'd check.  That and possibly your local school system's board offices.  They might be able to point you in the right direction.

  5. Look: you've screwed up big time so far, so why do you presume you're making good decisions now?

Contact your local welfare/unemployment/family/jobs office (I don't know what they're called in PA).  Tell them you want to earn your GED.  They'll guide you to the right service.

Do NOT fall for online diploma scams.  Get adult ed. from your accredited state programs.
