the width of the dam opening is 40feet, the dam opening is 3 feet. the speed of the river is 200feet per second. what is the flow volume of the river at this dam?

    where, Q = Volumetric flow rate

    A = Flow area

    V = velocity of fluid


  2. If the opening in the dam is 40 feet wide by 3 feet tall, then the area is 120 sq. ft.  Multiply this by the velocity, 200 fps, which gives 24,000 cu.ft./s.
