  1. Homeschooling isn't too expensive at all (alpha-omega)....and if you are older than 9 you probably can do most of it yourself! I was homeschooled all the way from kindergarten to 12 grade! I finished with a 3.70 . . . I loved being homeschooled..going at my own pace..and having the option to take off a day here or there when it was convenient for the family trips . . .  also I had the issue of kids from public school trying to degrade me about my schoolwork,, saying theirs was harder.....it isn't true you learn just as much being homeschooled if more..(trust me, I looked at their homework to make sure I was being challenged just as much as them and I was)....being homeschooled you don't have all of the classroom distractions.....I think you should go for it! It is a lot of fun (well as fun as school can be, I guess, haha)

here is a link to the schoolwork I did.... http://www.aop.com/homeschool/index.php?...

  2. I home-school my children and I was hated when I went to school also.

I feel like my children are more confident and are very social because they are forced to start a conversation first.

They are who they are not what their reputation says they are. They are very well mannered and are very good children.

My oldest I pulled out and started homeschooling right before high school (he finished 8th grade). He was starting to behave badly due to peer pressure and started having a personality that was not approved by me. So I pulled him and his brother (who is younger 5th grade and could not focus in school) and started to home-school them just last year.

IT WAS THE BEST THING THAT I EVER DID!!!!

They are now allowed to be who they are not what the rumors say they are!!!

I wish I was home-schooled because I am 35 years old now and all the teasing that happen in high school is still with me TO THIS DAY and it made me a very shy person. Looking back I can see that I was picked on because they were jealous. I know you can not see this now but one day maby you will be you and love who you have become even though your peers were horrible.

I hope this helps your mother see that you are wanting to be homeschooled for a reason and she sould take you sirously because it is hard to be alone when you don't fit in.. She needs to see you are asking for somekind of help no not asking... beaging...

  3. Tell you mom you want to learn and not be the subject of jokes by mean kids.

  4. You can do school at your own pace. Also, with my cyber school and most others you can take college courses and they count for highschool and college! So you will already be earning credits for College while you are getting those credits for highschool they will just be college level.

You get a computer? lol, uhm, I like the classes a lot I thought it would be g*y but your parents don't have to actually teach you so you just do it with your teachers or by yourself and they will get a call if you don't that is all. Also, you will have a lot more time to get a job and earn money for either college/get started on moving out on your own etc.

It gives you a lot of extra freetime, I love it.

Good luck, I love it. Find some cyber schools that you can show them the sites and you can go in and talk to someone about getting set up for it. If you live in Pennsylvania try PCCS and PALCS. They don't cost any extra money by the way, the school pays for it all.

If you don't live in Pennsylvania as far as I have heard the school district pays for all the online schools for highschool students.

The district even pays for your computer/laptop and everything, I have never been in public school, my mom homeschooled me and my brother all our lives except for a brief time my brother went to public school but came out because he didn't like it as much.  We both have enjoyed it and I think Cyber Schools are even better, I can either do the work on my own or have a teacher teach me in scheduled classes with other students through a headset and microphone.  Look up cyber schools in your area and ask your mom if you can set up an appointment that way they can tell you all about their rules and how everything works it will give your mom a much better idea and she should be more receptive.

  5. Get a library card and start reading every thing you need to know is there.

  6. Ask your mom how much she would be willing to spend if she decided to homeschool.  Using that amount as a guideline,  find the resources needed for this school year.

Present the plan to your Mom. It might help if you also present her with some of the research done on homeschooling.
