So, I got my nails done about a week ago for prom, and have yet been able to take my contacts out!! I've been reading other yahoo answers about taking them out, and have tried just about everything to get them out! I've done all sorts of prodding and pinching and rolling of my eyes, but they are very suctioned to my eye from not taking them out for so long, and they're getting awfully blod shot.. PLEASE help me!!! Give me as MANY suggestions as possible, these things gotta come out!

  1. I have naturally long hard nails and like to keep them that way.  I can remove my lens with my nails, but prefer not doing so.  I bought these two devices and they both work really well.

This is for the Contact 2 lens remover it is really easy to use and is gentle on your eyes as well.

This is for the DMV soft lens handler.  It can be used as an inserter and remover.  I use it to put my lens in almost everyday.  I have noticed the my lens stays much cleaner using it.  It also lasts longer as well.  My doctor even complimented me for how clean my lens was on my last visit and asked me what I was doing to keep it that way.

The only thing I can really suggest for your current situation is make sure your eyes are well lubricated with drops and to try and to try using the sides of your finger to remove the lenses.

I think you may want to consider both of those products if you would like to keep long nails and be able to remove you lenses with no problem.

    Good Luck

  2. instead of coming at your eye straight on with your fingers, turn your hand so you are using the side of your thumb and finger to take them out

  3. If your nails are not curled...which I hope they're not. Use the flat part of your finger, where your finger print lines are....hold your eye lids open.....Slide the contact down or to the corner of your eye.....It'll be hard but keep your eyelids open and look at what you're doing. You'll see wrinkle in the contact. If you can't pull it off with your nails....try using your finger knuckle to brush it out. If nothing else works, go to an optical store with licensed optician. They're the only ones who can remove contact lenses from your eyes. They will also suggest a good eye drop because I know your eyes will be sore. What brand of contacts are they?

  4. if you gotta very good friend who wears contacts, ask them,  my gf wears them and she got long nails so i do it for her....works for us.

  5. 1) Have your eye doctor remove them for you.

    2) Some optical dispensaries have rubber tipped soft tweezers to aid in contact removal, so you can call around to see who sells them - they should be under $10

    3) use your knuckles to pinch & roll the lens off your eye, but use lots of rewetting drops first.

    4) For future reference, keep your index finger and thumbnails short - you can get them painted and decorated, but keep them short just for this sort of issue. I always keep those two nails short, but my hands are always perfectly manicured.

Have your eye doctor remove your lenses tomorrow morning - make an appointment first thing. The longer a lens is kept on your eye without removal, the higher the risk of eye infections, corneal ulcers or worse.

Good luck and let us know how it turns out.

  6. use the side of your index finger opposite your nailbed. apply pressure over the lens and move it to either corner of your eye. wet your finger with drops first so the lens will stick to it. if you cannot do it, you need to go to the optometrist's office and have someone remove for you. it needs to come out.

  7. You have to pinch with you knuckles...I want to get my nails done so bad, but I don't want to get them stuck either.  Good luck!

Also lube your eyes before hand
