I recently moved into a houseshare and have no aerial in my room, a friend said I need to buy an indoor aerial and a booster but I have no idea what kind to buy or how to use them. Any advice on what I really need or products that really work? Ideally I'd like a freeview box too.

I have a regular TV which is about four years old and I live in the UK

  1. http://www.argos.co.uk/webapp/wcs/stores...

    Try That

  2. I had the same problem and even with a indoor ariel, booster and freeview box it made little difference. The only way which worked for me was to watch it through my computer via the internet.

  3. If you want free view then you will need a roof or wall mounted aerial and fairly high. Contact from yellow pages a specialist and they will advise you. Be careful though as there are some rip off merchants out there. Price for putting up an aerial and associated wiring should not exceed £120. With a proper aerial you will not need a booster.

  4. Depends where you are. Have look at http://www.digitaluk.co.uk/home2

An outside aerial is mega better than an indoor one, even if it's just hanging out of the window in the right direction. Go to Maplin for the aerial + cable and any supermarket for a cheap Freeview box.

  5. Get a freeview £20 from Argos problem solved.

  6. Best thing to do is get an external aerial fitted,I had new aerial fitted 3yrs ago, cost £45 including materials, will be a bit dearer now though. Then get a cheap freeview box.

  7. Just get a rasonable aerial, poss with 32 elements and digital, and  fix to the wall, look at the houses around you it will give you an indication ,to point it in the right direction, feed the cabel in to your house and into the tv, when you have put the tv on you should get some kind of picture, you will then need to turn thr aerial slightly  to ge a better picture, when you have a good picture go through the other chanels to make sure they are ok. you may need to adjust a little more, when all is ok tighten the bracket  tight. you can put a freeview box to your tv when you set it up.
