They are small black spiders that are all over my back lawn. They seem to jump a bit too. How can I kill them without damaging the grass?

  1. Jumping spiders are non venomous to humans and superior hunters of the bad insectoid beasties that eat your desireables.....send them to me.  You are lucky to have such predetors WHYDJA wanna killem?

  2. Snip off their legs.

  3. Its sometimes hard to find but if you can find some boric acid powder. It isn't as bad as it sounds. They actually put it in eye drops.

It is sold for use as a flea killer and a roach powder. You can sometimes find large buckets of it on the internet. Sprinkle it over your yard and let it sit on the grass a couple days. It is safer than using an insecticide. You can also just buy some outdoor insecticide and a big sprayer and go to town on your lawn. They are probably doing some good out there - unless they are really a nuisance I'd leave them alone.
