    stay VERY hydrated with water as a deterrent.

  4. Vitamin Water helps with my soda addiction but it's not all that much better. The only real improvement is the vitamins and minerals, especially electrolytes for people with dehydration issues from soda.

    But I inevitably always go back to soda anyway lol.

    The idea is to progressively drink less, not try to quit cold turkey I think.

    Switch to caffeine free first, then something similar but a lil better like Vitamin Water, etc til you get down to just milk, juice and water.

    Ok, here's what you do,

    1. Stay away from places with soda in them, it'll be tough, but you won't be as tempted.

    2. Tell the people you spend time with this, so they won't tempt you.

    3. Try some other liquid, like water or tea, getting addicted to them isn't bad. Especially not tea, it's good for you.

    4. DON'T "CHEAT", NEVER DRINK SODA. Or else you will still be addicted.

    And if you conquer the addiction, congratulations! Now, I have one more thing.

    5. DO NOT DRINK ANY MORE, YOU WILL MOST LIKELY BECOME ADDICTED TO IT AGAIN.

  7. Trust me, i had this problem when i was about ten years old.

    Just stop buying soda, and start drinkingmore healthy stuff.

    Like juice, or kool-aid, even flavored water.

  9. the only way to stop addiction is to slowly ween yourself off until you quit.

  10. you prolly like the fuz right? when i was addicted to soda what i would do as an alternative was take some juice like idk sweet juice and then put it with some carbonated water. After a while you get sick of it. Or you can drink carbonated water alone either way it';; take your addiction away :P good luck!!

  11. hey! have'nt many of us been there on this path? :-) Here are some recommendations:

    1. First of all, stop feeling bad or guilty. If only feeling guilty or bad would stop this habit! :-)

    2. Just watch when you go to a restaurant or shopping, and simply "catch yourself" trying to order/buy soda. Instead, simply say NO to yourself. Start slowly, and build confidence in your own self of saying "No" to soda. Start small. Its OK to keep drinking a few times a week.

    3. Conciously substitute soda with water. Start slowly and gradually build up your appetite and taste towards water.

    4. When you feel the thirst, just drink water instead, or keep sipping on water every once in a while.

    You need to realize that you'r not ADDICTED to soda. You just have a craving for it. There is a big difference b/n addiction and a craving. You can stop a craving, and develop a craving towards something else (like water, in this case).

    Lastly, enjoy your life! Its too short to worry about these little things. :-)
