I was laying on my couch, in Colorado Springs, CO the lights were off except for the TV when I saw this dark thing hurrying across the floor near the wall, I got up and hit the light and it stopped, I of course disabled the spider fearing it was a brown recluse but after a closer look im not so sure, it does have only six eyes, but lacks the violin marking? its body is exactly 3/4 of an inch long, I put a picture of it here

  9. Not sure what type it is,but it looks too big to be a Brown Recluse. The legs also seem too thick.Sorry I couldn't be more help.

  10. that is a wolf spider.

  11. It is NOT a Brown Recluse.  It is far too  big for that.  It's a little hard to tell because your photo is dark, but it looks like a large, female Wolf Spider.  Completely harmless, and they hunt most of their prey on the ground by running them down.  They are NOT dangerous in any way.

"ALL" spiders have 8 eyes.  You just missed the other two.

These animals are very beneficial and help the environment a great deal.  They also help people by ridding us of pests like Flys, Gnats, Aphids, Cockroaches, Mosquitoes, Crickets, and others.  Would you rather have "one" spider in your home, or "100" Cockroaches ??  Think about that.
