Is the weather dry or wet in New Zealand?

Is there a lot of mosquito, fly, or harmful insect in New Zealand?

I heard: There were earthquakes in Napier. Which area is the earthquake zone?

In which city I can enjoy the sunshine more?

I want to find a place in New Zealand where is sunny, dry, no mosquito, and no earthquake. Where should I visit?

  1. im sorry to say you would be very lucky to find anywhere in nz that is sunny and warm anymore. Even the summer is really sporadic infact last new year i was in cristchurch we had to light the fire it was so cold, thats the middle of summer and its still been snowing in september which is meant to be spring

    but if you do go nelson probably has nicest weather and no earthquakes..

  3. Nelson in the south island has the most sunshine. I will point out that New Zealand is not connected to australia in any way. Nz has a few spiders that are dangerous but for living there 18 years i've only seen 2 or 3 and that was in the bush. Nz is a safe place to go, Napier hasn't had a major earthquake in decades i wouldnt let that affect your decision on going to NZ

  5. Probably worth asking in the NEW ZEALAND section, not the AUSTRALIA one.

    Mozzies and flies are not harmful. North island is warmer then the south.
