Help me ladies: Is my BF a slacker?

Ok..so my bf has worked at a blue collar job which pays (according to him) well, for a while now...He has dropped out of college twice because he said he "couldnt handle work and school" (which i've DONE)..I see some of his friends who have worked high powered jobs and one of those friends just finished his bachelors and is moving to NY to get his masters. It worries me that my BF is not as goal oriendted and motivated...He is a good provider but ive been dissappointed as to how he's handled his Education. I mean working a blue collar job your whole life is not something to do? He's just now starting community college. I already have my associates and i'm currently working on my bachelors while searching for job interships in my field. Will marrying a man like my BF be worth it?? im worred about financial security. which is VERY important to me. And he's also talking about kids and marriage with sucha job..Help me.

Encourage him to get motivated because if he can't be bothered to go to college then he probably won't be bothered to pay the bills...

You are not a good match.  There is nothing wrong with working a blue collar job for life.  Its just obviously not good enough for you.  Fine, your entitled to your own standards, but dont pick a blue collared guy and try and make him into someone else.  If it means so much to you, go get a white collared man and let your BF find someone who will appreciate him for him.  School is not for everyone.  Please dont hen-peck the man, if he isnt your dream man, let him go.

maybe if he didn't have to deal with all of your complaining all the time he'd feel motivated. im 23, work 40 hours a week as a supervisor at my job which pays well enough for now ($17 an hour), and am just restarting community college as well. instead of complaining all of the time perhaps you should compliment him in his efforts to go back to school. maybe he hasn't gotten it figured out what he's going to do AFTER college. my girlfriend encourages me all the time. i sold my car to pay for school and take my bike to work and the bus to school on my days off.

It sounds like your boyfriend has low motivation. Some people are just not cut out to do schooling. If you research it, the billionaires in the world are high school drop outs that have exploited natural resources. If financial security is important to you, start a life savings account. About dropping your boyfriend, well he needs you perhaps. Remind him how his poor decisions will eventually make your life together hard.
