Help me make my elbows pretty again.?

Does anyone have a solution to soften rough elbows? I am a 33 yr old mother of 3. I have tried gallons of lotions - all different kinds, and pumice stones. Also, they are very dark compared to the rest of the skin on my arm making my elbows always look dirty. I was thinking maybe peroxide and lemon juice. Any suggestions or tried and true methods would be helpful. Thank you.

  1. I use exfoliating gloves in the shower, and use Dove body lotion.

It's nice and thick, and works brilliant.

  2. 100% shea butter (like that big tin from l'occitane) is amazing for chapped, rough skin. you take a chunk, rub it in your palms till its melted, and just smooth all over.

as for the darkness, you could try a treatment that's meant for hyperpigmentation on the face, ones with ingredients like hydroquinone, kojic acid, or licorice extract. they progressively lighten darkened skin and even out the skintone overall. but because elbow skin is thicker than the skin on your face, i'm guessing, it might not be strong enough. if it really bothers you, ask a derm?

  3. slough with sugar, and a washcloth or body brush, and then put on some mineral or olive oil.

  4. Massage with Vaseline or Mentholatum every night before going to bed until it's not so rough and then pretty again

  5. Get those elbows pretty it's the first thing guys look at, which should be the top concern of a mother of 3.

  6. Never scrub any part of your skin very hard.Never lean on your elbows.Dirt on the place damage your skin.

Daily massage your skin with the mixture of olive oil+almond oil+castor oil and leave it whole day.Again evening wash it and do the same.Bleach it every 15 days.Aloederm can be apply in the night on elbows which cures scars.Drink sufficient water.1 to 2 l perday.

  7. Ok, this might sound gross but...

SHORTENING. you know, from the baking section in your grocery store? Take a sock (one that's clean and will never be worn again), cut the foot part off, and slather the shortening on your elbow. Put the sock over it and leave it overnight. this should work!  :)

  8. If you're looking for a lotion, then try Bliss Body Butter. I'm not sure if you're American or English, but if you're English try Waitrose "Baby Bottom Butter" it's for babies but was recently shown it works amazingly for adults not just babies. Alternatively, Johnson's Baby Oil- again it's not just for babies .

  9. put alot of make-ups!!!

  10. I have a couple of ideas:  One yes, lemon, but take the lemon and cut in half-rub each half on your elbows cupping the lemon around your elbow.  The other is to use a lightener cream, sold a drug stores.  I actually use one that is made just for knees and elbows.  It works great.  Then be sure an lotion up your elbows and hands each time you wash your hands.  Since you have a limited amount of time with 3 children, I'd keep a jar of cream by the soap to help you remember to take the time to use.

  11. just scrub it really hard

  12. I can't believe you are using pumice stones on your elbows.  Try Ambi skin lightener softener.  It couldn't hurt.
