  1. Because the love of power is greater than the power of love

  2. Dissent arises from civil unrest, usually due to citizens' perceptions that a law is unfair or a government is repressive. Example: Civil Rights dissent arose from unfair social practices and laws aimed at blacks and other minorities. Tiannamen Square riots arose from student perceptions of China's repressive regimes and lack of civil rights/ democracy.

Crimes arise for many reasons. Chief among reasons for crime is poverty. Those who do not have commit crimes against society, each other and against those who have. Another cause is disenfranchisement: when a person does not feel he/she is part of society, there is no incentive to participate in society in a positive way.

Crime also arises from mental health influences: psycho- and sociopathologies, alcoholism, drug addiction. Finally, crimes can be related to abuse of power and human rights: during war, in political systems, wealth, etc.

  3. The WORD you are looking for is "sociology."
