  1. I have a bedroom with similar colors. I painted it Ancestral Gold (from Sherwin Williams) and it looks AWESOME! (I also added some red as an accent color). You can go to www.sherwinwilliams.com to test it out (it doesn't look as good as in person though. The color is great, and really makes the dark brown look rich. Another good color they have in the green family is Hearts of Palm, which is more of a gold/limey green. (Which I did in my kitchen with white cabinets and it looks really nice.)

Another color option would be to go with a nice, true red (not a burgandy red), you want something to contrast with the brown nice, in an opposite tone. Don't do anything like beige or white, it'll be WAY too bland.

  2. Go to www.behr.com.

  3. a dark deep red.

  4. play around with the Sherwin Williams color visualizer to find colors that you like. It is the best paint visualizer on the web, imho. I like how their color palette is laid out, I like that you can search by color family & color name, the "painted" rooms look the most realistic, and it suggests coordinating color schemes. You can literally spend hours:

I think a "Humble Gold" (# 6380) would look terrific with what you describe.

You can also take a photo of your house & upload it to the makeover gallery on this website:

You can get color suggestions & they'll photoshop them onto your room so that you can get an idea of what it will look like.

  5. A robin's egg blue or a shade of teal would look great! Find a comforter first and then choose a color from it.  Here are some you might like:
