Help me pick out clubs!!?

I am a 23 year old female and I just started golfing this summer. I am really starting to like it so I'm ready to get some clubs. My friend has been letting me borrow her clubs and offered to sell me for $100.00 with the bag. They are Golden Cub and only have been used about 8 times. She said she purchased them for between 250 and 300 dollars.

I picked out a Top Flight 15 piece beginner set at ***** that i really like for 249. To me the only difference is that the Top Flight set is more attractive (i'm a sucker for pink, don't roll your eyes).

Is it ignorant to not buy the 2nd hand, barely used clubs since it is my first set?? is golden cub even a decent brand, which is better??

thanks for helping me...

  1. Have done anything more than look at this Top flight beginner set?  Have you tried the demos hitting into a net at the store?  If not, do that before buying them.  If you hit your friend's clubs better than the Top Flights, buy your friend's clubs.  If you hit the Top Flights better, then buy those ones.

  2. Truthfully,   The better clubs are the ones you hit the best.  No matter what brand or color.  Hit them on a launch monitor.  That will tell you which clubs you hit the best.  Good luck and enjoy the game!

  3. try them both...whichevere one is better you have to take it because in the long run having a good golf game is better than having nice looking clubs

  4. Golf is more of a game with personal taste, personal techniques and favors are more deciding factors to your game than clubs and balls. I play a year 2000 irons set, my driver and fairwoods are older than 4-5 yearsand, I still like them.
