Help me pick?

im 13 and going into 8th grade. I have been playing the alto saxophone for 3 years now and i want to play another insturment. how easy is it to play the flute from the alto? how about the clarinet?

I would say the clarinet is easy because it has the same mouthpiece as the alto saxphone

Hmm.... i would go with Clarinet =]

it will be easier for you to pick up

but you could always go to a different

type of sax like tenor

well i have been in band since 5th grade

i believe it would be easier to go to the clarinet because they have the same embosser and they both have a reed

The clarinet is closer to the saxophone and you should pick that up pretty quickly.

I LOVE the clarinet.

It's my favorite instrument besides the guitar.

The flute is something I'd like to take up myself though.

i played the sax then the clarinet. It is easier if you go to the clarinet.

I think you should just stick with playing the alto. I'm going to be in 8th grade next year too. I play the flute I've been playing for about 5 years. It's really easy.  I would recommend that you play the clarinet I play the clarinet and it's easy. The clarinet is almost like a saxophone because they are both reed instruments. I would also suggest going to a music program were you live that way you could play the flute or clarinet, while still playing the saxophone in school. Hope I helped.
