Hello, my husband and I are going to Madrid, Spain for a conference from July 30th~Aug 7th. We plan on taking train on Aug.8th to meet our daughter in Bordeaux, France. From there, we have until Aug. 14th to travel in France. Our return flight departs from Paris back to US. Can you give us some suggestions on how to plan our days in France? Where should we visit? How do we get there? Should we buy Eurail pass? Where should we stay over-night for how many days? Thank you for taking your time to suggest.

  1. I agree with the first answer.

Why dont you wine and dine in the Bordeaux area. In August, most public places will be chockablock with tourists in Paris and most French cities.

  2. Bonjour! I live close to Bordeaux and I suggest you to have a good look on this area. It really worths it! The city of Bordeaux is one of the nicest in France, and the surrouding is really beautiful. Not to speak of the chateaux (vineyards). And if you love nature, the endless and sunny desert beaches  of the Atlantic shore, and of course, the "Parc Régional des Landes de Gascogne", the largest forest in western Europe...

I have been living here for more than 30 years....

In France, we use to speak of "quality of life", and this is true...

You can't imagine how life can be sweet here.

This is this coutry that people have the longest life, after all

(a woman reached 112 years old! She died (at last!!) two years ago!)

Have a good time, and welcome in France!!
