  1. I agree with Roger L's first paragraph that Rutgers is fine school and a good financial choice. California is expensive to live in and Frisco is *really* expensive. Add visits to family and dollar wise it is a no-brainer.

I strongly disagree with his second paragraph which shows that he has no clue what a pharmacist is. A pharmacist is a DOCTOR who specializes in chemistry. One of his/her greatest responsibilities is to understand how each patient's existing medical conditions and existing medications interact with new medications BEFORE they sign-off on releasing a new bottle of meds. This means a pharmacist has to have general knowledge about EVERY type of disease and medical condition there is.

Good luck on your future in medicine!

  2. I would vote for the Garden State because you'll actually be able to do it. The program not only will cost more in California but also will require coast-to-coast flights. The price of those is going up, and there are fewer of them. It is simply more practical.

How much better can one pharmacy program be than another? Perhaps I am ignorant or jaded, but as far as I can tell, whether the pharmacist scooping tablets from one container into another got her degree from Yale or Doopdoop University don't make three beans' difference.

Rutgers isn't a bad place. The Jersey shore isn't bad. It is not unknown to amuse oneself in New York City (exit 16 for the Lincoln Tunnel).

On the other hand, with enough money California can be paradise. When it comes to choosing where to live, I know where I would go. As for getting on with it, however, give me the east coast. Besides, the east coast girls are hip, I really dig those styles the wear...
