  1. Remember your examiner 'wants' you to pass - they hate having to tell you you've failed - they are on your side.

Get a good night's rest. A couple of hours before the test, relax and, with your eyes closed, imagine yourself going through the manoeuvres correctly in real time. In your mind, drive calmly through roundabouts and junctions.

Practice, for real, for about an hour before the test. Don't worry if things go a little awry during the practice - this often happens. Get to the test centre in plenty of time, go to the loo or whatever and, yes, do some deep breathing exercises.

Unfortunately, although instructors are taught how to teach driving, they are taught little or nothing about how to deal with the psychology of being nervous! So if you find your instructor can't help and your nerves are REALLY bad, go see your doctor and ask what he/she advises - they can have really good ideas.

Finally, whatever you do, DON'T offset your mirror slightly to show the examiner you are checking your mirrors. This is a complete fallacy - a good examiner will know exactly when you are checking your mirrors. If you offset your mirror and have to keep moving your head, he is more likely to think you don't know how to adjust your mirrors correctly - and that is not good!

Best of luck - if you've learned and practiced everything, you'll be fine :-)

  2. im only 14 sorry

  3. To have some nerves is a good thing, but what i did was take some calm tablets before your test they are herbal so u wont be drugged up for the test. but the main thing is you have to have the attitude that you can take the test again its not the end of the world hun x x

  4. Practice, practice, practice. On the day of your test focus only on your test, make sure you have read, re-read and re-read again the Highway Code. If you are having a lesson prior to your test use it to calm yourself and take your time to practice any weak points (parallel parking, reversing, etc). Before your test take a minute to take some slow deep breaths and visualise yourself passing. It is natural to be nervous but don't let it affect your performance. Focus instead on how passing will open up your social life and enable you to travel further afield. Good luck with your test.

  5. You should only be scared if you aren't ready. Can you do everything (and i mean EVERYTHING) without any help at all from your instructor? Have you done ALL the topics including major roundabouts, multi lane roundabouts, big and small crossroads? If you have then you have nothing to worry about, just drive well and you'll pass. The main question to ask is if you feel safe to be on your own, if not then don't go on it

  6. I was unbelievably nervous but I passed first time, Even If you think you are doing badly carry on to the end and don't give up.Even If you do fail at least you know what to expect for your next test. Best of luck.

  7. Just think of it as taking a mate out for a run, only they a telling you exactly what to do.  Helps if you don't see the examiner as he is, just see it as giving someone a lift.

  8. fingers crossed for you mate... Good luck.

  9. 1. Think positive, you ARE going to pass !

    2. Make sure you get a good nights sleep !

    3. Get to the test centre early !

    4. As Cat girl correctly says, breath deeply for lots of oxygen, which keeps you calm !

You only have 21% Oxygen in the air you breath, so big breaths are benificial, and try to relax.

    5. Don´t rush anything, and listen carefully to the examiner.

    6. Offset your rear view mirror slightly, so it´s obvious to your examiner you are using it.

Good Luck, let us know when you have passed !!!

    I have 10 Quid on you !!!!

  10. I was really nervous too! The best thing you can really do is remember to breath. It sounds stupid.... but sometimes you find yourself breathing irregularly and that can get you even more stressed out.

So just relax and breath. =]

  11. this I saw on old Brady bunch TV show

imagine the driver examiner in his/her underwear

this usually works to calm the nerves

  12. Just think how much it will cost you if you fail.

That should do the trick !!!
