I want to get emo hair and dress new and wear eyeliner but my mom wont let me she wont let me be diffrent and says it looks trashy but i just wnat to be myself.. help me?

im going to be 13.

I like the first answer. I'm exactly your age too. I want to start wearing eyeliner and makeup and i love the scene look. But i have no clue how to tell my mom. Well this is what I'm planning on doing:

Going to the store with friends (not mom) and buy make up! Or ask my dads side of the family to buy me some(: Then she'll let me wear it.

um sorry but i'll be siding with your mom, your too young to be wearing make up and the like

and sorry but a day will come when you realise that today you was just a kid and your mom was rigth, and when you have your own kids you would be saying exactly the same

oh i know today you lack the insigth to see or agree with that, but trust me everyone been through the teens, the day will come soon enough when you are glad your mom pushed the breaks and insisted you take your time growing up and not just go from kid to 'adult' over night

You are growing up and want to be your own person and I understand that. I think maybe just start dressing the way you want to and wear eyeliner and she'll tell you to stop but oh well. I'm not trying to get you to be defiant, but she has to realize you are your own person not who she wants you to be.

If your not wearing it now, then its NOT yourself is it.  Are you really that depressed that you need to wear all black at 13 ?   Lighten up and dress the way you want without scaring the world with all black.  Its depressing, but maybe you and your mom can come up with some nice outfits thats don't make such a negative impact on society.

You want to be yourself, yet you want to be emo?  Emo is extremely trendy these days, so you kind of contradicted yourself.  Instead, truly be yourself instead of following a specific fashion.  You can find something totally unique that your mom will also approve of.

You don't want emo hair... Think about it- You're trying to be different right? Well, every other teenager looks like that! Think of something new yourself. You know what- Everyone bleaches the front of their hair- or does streaks on top. Do a stripe on the bottom. No one does that! Everyone else is straitening their hair... CURL yours! Everyone else wears black eyeliner- go buy blue!
