Due to the high temperatures in summer, a lot of water of the Mediterrane Sea evaporates, causing water from the Atlantic Ocean running into the Med Sea, which is even noticeable at the coast of Egypt.

Therefore the salinity is lower in the west and increases to its highest level at the coast of the asian states.

Based on above facts:

Gibraltar: 36

Malta: 37

Cyprus: 39
