  1. Mostly sun worshippers

  2. During these time periods there weren't really any organized religions. Most peopled practiced some form of polytheism (the worship of many gods) or animism (the worship of animals and nature). Generally, animism was part of polytheism. Most religions from this time period are now either extinct or only practiced by a limited population. However, it is worth noting that Hinduism began sometime in the prehistoric period although it probably has changed significantly. Also, I'm not sure of the date, but Judaism may have started in the late neolithic age or sometime in the early age of civilization (the current age). It is hard to tell because there is no set date for the beginning of the age of civilization and it started later for some regions. However, the region Judaism started in (the fertile crescent- mostly present day Iraq) was one of the first to reach the age of civ., so Judaism probably wasn't from the neolithic era.

  4. I'm not an expert in religions and I don't know where in the world you are referring to but, here goes.

Most religions of these periods would be considered, by Christians, to be Pagan religions.

In Europe the Celtic peoples worshiped the Sun. The oldest building in Europe is Newgrange in Ireland and was built as a tomb, and a place of worship where driuds would hold some sort of rituals.

All of the older religions would be included eg Egyptians worshiped Osiris and Ra etc, the Greeks at the beginnings of their religious beliefs worshiped Gaia (Earth), Ouranos (Sky) and Tartaros (h**l/Underground). Also in South America there may be some information on the very early beliefs of the Mayans, Aztecs or Incas, although be aware that most of the information about the would refer to the late medieval period 1500's.

Also I think that the Aboriginal Australian peoples beliefs about Dreamtime? etc are among the oldest in the world. You could also google them.

I have no idea how old Buddism, Islam or Hinduism are so you could check out info on their early beliefs. Christianity would definitely not be included because it it too "new" a religion. I don't know about any of the other major established religions though.

I hope this helps or gives you ideas.
