  1. well its really hard to get something relaxing but energetic, personally (also note i'm a 16 yr. old guy, straight) decorated my cousins room and she requested the same...heres what I did:

but here room is about 950 squared feet (we live in Anaheim, Orange County big houses)

I painted her room dark dove white (i put 2 tablespoons of black for every gallon of dove white) and painted the north and south walls that color..the east and west walls i painted it dark grey (10 tablespoons of white for every gallon of black)

for the N and S walls (top to bottom) i went dark to light and E and W (top to bottom) I went light to dark..

    it looks gorgeous..

then we went shopping for some Michael Korrs bedding and got this one:

    http://www.michaelkors.com/store/catalog...

we got olive light green lamps with light chocolate lamp covers..(4, one if every corner over 6 feet tall)

well i can go on and on,,but you get the idea?

    it looks very energetic..

hope you don't have a small budget..email me with anyhthing, I can help you with anything (decor that is)

  2. You should paint you room a dark pastel color [purple, blue ,gray, etc.]that way it will be energetic because its dark but relaxing because its a pastel.

For furniture you should use modern furniture that is a dark color. For the fabric it should be a solid color, complimented with accessories and pillows that have patterns.

If you want to make it feng shui try to get a carpet with an Oriental design and try to have bamboo accent pieces and maybe a small Buddha statue.

  3. well i am currently in the process of redoing my room, and i think what I am doing is just what you would like!

heres what i put in it:

    A desk with these legs

    and this top

and then i put some funky pillows/mirrors/frames around the room. i think it looks great.

    i really hope i helped!

  4. go with the 'coastal' look. suttle *sorry bout the spelling* citrus greens, blues, creams..then add in shells n' stuff like that. its really pretty and calming, its what my room is.
