  1. take your lunch to work

walk instead of driving short distances

only shop once a week, and make and take a list, and stick to it

    buy generic brands

drink cordial instead of soft drinks

    drink water instead of cordial

    use your mobile phone less

dont buy stuff you dont really need (really hard)

dont buy magazines or books, join a library and borrow them

if you are cold, put on more clothes and blankets instead of using a heater

    thats all i got now

  2. op shop - op shop - and more op shops - buy nothing new - you will be truly amazed at what you find and what you save!

  3. buy bulk? that may help, try to watch your spending as close as possible, I read that people start off by buying off a small house or appartment, renting it off for a profitable income and then buying a large house, but dont take my word for it

  4. Start a savings or mutual funds account that makes it hard for you to make withdrawals.  Put in an automatic transfer from you checking account so you don't have to remember to do it.

After a few weeks, you won't even miss the money that you are saving.

Add more than the transfer, every chance you get.

In the meantime, pay off as much debt as you can and use credit cards sparingly - just enough to keep your accounts in good reporting condition.

Learn to buy later - condition yourself not to buy every little thing your heart desires.  Keep your house in mind, whenever you go shopping for that extra outfit or gadget.

Don't buy anything "for the house" until you get the house!

You will want all new stuff anyway and if you save enough, you will be able to afford it.

Think about a second job - even if its only a few hours a week.  Bank the whole thing.

Good luck - you know you can do it!

  5. Just send your money over to me. I will look after it for you :-}

Go to your bank and have a talk to them about opening an account with a fixed payment each week. If you can manage to keep the payment's up, you will show the bank that you are a good credit risk. Then, when you want to get a loan, you will be able to ask them with proof of your ability to repay.

  6. maybe save some of your money like loose change and bills and put them into a large piggy bank or something. then if yu have a job and notice yu always have a little extra money left in your pay check then yu can put that towards your house and it will gradually build up over time.

also i think you'll save up faster if yu would maybe like print out a picture of the house yu want to buy (doesn't have to be the exact house, just something yu would be interested in) and frame it or tape it near wherever your saving your money.

    good luck(:
