  1. √(x + 10) = 5 - √(3 - x)

    Square both sides:

    x + 10 = 25 - 10√(3 - x) + (3 - x)

    Simplify:

    x + 10 = -10√(3 - x) + 28 - x

    2x - 18 = -10√(3 - x)

    Now square both sides again:

    4x² - 72x + 324 = 100(3 - x)

    Simplify:

    4x² - 72x + 324 = 300 - 100x

    4x² + 28x + 24 = 0

    Divide both sides by 4:

    x² + 7x + 6 = 0

    (x + 6)(x + 1) = 0

    x = -6 and -1.

  2. 1) x>=-10 and x<=3

    sqrt(x+10)+sqrt(3-x)=5

    square both sides

    x+10+3-x +2 sqrt(x+10)*(3-x)=25

    sqrt((x+10)(3-x)=6

    now square again

    (x+10)(3-x)=36 s -x^2 -7x+30= 36  and x^2 +7x-6=0

    x=((-7+-sqrt(49 -24))/2  so x= -6 and x= -1 both solutions

  3. sqare both sides

    x+10=25-3-x

    put x's on one side and everything else on the other

    x+x=25-3-10

    2x=12 divide by 2

    x=6
