If you are white I guess you can't take offense to it. However, the word is a bad word and is not a nice one. Just try to let it go and if you are called that word again just be like "how can you call me that? You should really know what the word means before you go calling people it."  If you weren't white, hence something a lont the lines of African American or from the Carribean or some sort, then you could definetly take offense to the word and the person who said it could be in trouble, especially if it was a boss, becuase that is a great offense.
