  1. take it easy

  2. Its okay if you say something boring or silly because you can make a joke about it later.

  3. Log onto www.stutterstop.com

I have seen this amazing product on the Oprah show. It's a device that goes into your ear. I am not involved with this product in any way. I saw stutterers, or rather, I should say, I heard them speak without the device, and I felt frustrated listening to them. As soon as they put this little device into their ear, the difference was amazing.

Check it out and good luck. I do realize that stuttering is a sign of anxiety. If you type in products to help stutterers, you'll get other websites as well.  Good luck.

  4. practice by reading newspapers or books outloud

  5. you need to be confident in what you are saying. stuttering, unless it is like one of those mental problems, is a reaction of unconfidence in what you are saying so say less and completely believe in what you say

  6. I read this great quote yesterday I hope you enjoy it.

"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others." - by Marianne Williamson

  7. singing helps not during the conversation of course but as a part of speech therapy.   If you don't stutter otherwise then perhaps it will help to rehearse a few basic questions to start a conversation with and then let the other person do most of the talking....most people would rather hear themselves talk than listen anyway.

  8. Stop being nervous. The real deal here is to stay calm, and let things flow as YOU find as good. If you try to adjust to others, it simply won't work out. Make yourself feel comfortable, and see the results. :)

Also, if you can, try to stand in front of the mirror, and imagine the person in the mirror to be someone else. At that time, think that all you want to do is deliver your thought YOUR way. And why worry? If people find you boring, it's their fault that they can't appreciate a person's way of speaking. Believe me, people care in the least. And try to smile, always. Try to be serious but jokingly serious, that people don't feel alienated. A slight humor is always good. :) But, again, the main thing: SAY IT YOUR WAY, DON'T CARE ABOUT HOW IT IS DELIVERED. ALL YOU NEED TO MAKE SURE IS THAT WHAT YOU WANT TO SAY, IS SAID! Good luck!
