Help me wit the sq.rt. of 4x^2(squared)?

Why is 2x wrong? it has something to do with absolute value, help please!!

  1. The first answer says it.... perhaps they wanted you to state the answer as +/- 2x, since +2x squared is 4x^2, and -2x squared is also 4x^2.


  2. Sq. Rt. (4X^2) = 2X when X is greater than 0.

    Sq. Rt. (4X^-2) = 0 when X is 0

    Sq. Rt. (4X^-2) = -2X when X is less than 0

    This is because what you are actually solving for is the absolute value of X and absolute values can only be positive.
