Help me with a carry on bag question?

Can I bring a printer on my carry on bag. I want to do this because it is expensive and want to make sure it is properly handled. Will it pose a problem for airport security?

I wouldnt think so, just make sure if there's ink in there that it is 3oz or less. Thats the only thing i would think could cause a problem.

Remove the ink cartridge.  Plus, it has to be able to fit below the seat or in the overhead (I'm sure they'll insist you put in on the floor).  

Plus, its measurements can't be more than 45 linear inches (height plus width plus length).

as long it fits in the 45 linear inch limit you should have no problem. i actually just called an air lines last night . i will be moving in a few weeks i'm shipping my stuff and flying myself. but i don't trust my sewing machine to anyone so i had to find out if it was small enough to take with me as my carry on. that way i KNOW its safe! (yes i plan on removing the needle be for hand and putting that in my checked bag!)
