Help me with a little bit of Pokemon leaf green?

Ok, I had my kakuna at level 9, and it had just evolved from a weedle to a kakuna, so I took it to the day care man, and when I came back, it was level 19, but did not evolve into a bee drill, so how do I make it evolve now? Same thing happened with my metapod, HELP ME!

You can only evolve it by level up when you battle it on the wild or trainer not in the Day care.

Edit:as the other guy said it don't matter if it is past its level it will still evolve.

All you have to do is level your pokemon another level. It will still evolve even if its past the level.

Just as the other person said, you have to level it up yourself for it to evolve. You can still do it, kakuna will evolve at any point after level 10.
