Help me with blink 182 guitar tab?

-see where it says c5(strum)

What do they mean strum? i was strumming the verse before? its confusing me

Strum mean to hit more than one string at a time.

One the first section you only strum the string(s) that are listed as you having to press a fret down (including 0 {open string}) where as where it says as C5(strum) it means the whole 6 string.

The quality of the entablature leaves much to be desired however two things worth mentioning 1) It may be intended that you 'pick' the strings during the first section and 2) the writer suggests that you listen to the recording to hear what the player does.
