4. can i keep my bank accounts ?

5. can i get a job and get my money paid somewhere ?

right, i am 30 and i live with my parents, i am unemployed and claiming incapacity benefit.= 60 pounds per week.

i have 3 bank accounts but two never get used,

i have one which is in use just to pay off a small but fastly growing debt.

i owe 300 approx and repayments are 71 a month, i have a 100 overdraft.

i bust my overdraft by 50 pence, now i got an extra 15 pound bill and im getting charged an extra 6 pound a day for it being overdrawn,

nobody can lend me the money. and i refuse another loan.

i tried committing suicide over this problem and i also got arrested for assultin officers when they was assisting paramedics to save my life.

police advised me to declare bankrupcy,

but i want to get a new job in the next 3 weeks ,

and i definitely will need a bank account in a years time but i an manage without my own accounts for a year,

please help me , thankyou

The banks should have given you information on what to do if you were struggling with payments.

Have a look at this site - lots of excellent information there.

First i would contact CCCS or Payplan and ask them for advice.  They are free debt charities and deal with this stuff all the time, but usually for much larger amounts than £300.

If you look at the national debtline site, they have template letters that you can send the banks asking to stop the charges and to accept token payments.  The charities will be able to help with these too.

Right now i would try to get another current account to pay your income into.  I think the Co-op are good at accepting people but you should be able to ask.  Once you have your money going into another account, then i would request back the bank charges.

It's disgusting that the banks have not even attempted to assist their customer and just tried to squeeze as much profit from you as possible.  Time to push back.

  2. In the USA:

    1. Look up a local Bankruptcy attorney in the phone book

    2. Make an appointment asap

    3. It will cost about $200.00 to file, and you can make payments to the attorney to get that much, then once the attorney files, letters are sent to each creditor and you can tell each creditor and you will get a number to tell them you have filed. Then you no longer have to pay them any longer. Unless it is something you intend to keep like a house or car, then you continue to make those payments and have your attorney RE AFFIRM those loans only or you can choose to relinquish them in bankruptcy and after it is finalized then someone will come get them.

No Government debts are resolved in bankruptcy, but most other debts are releaved.

In the USA more and more people do these all the time, and it is not even a big deal, you go to a small room with alot of others doing the same thing they ask you a couple questions verifying the info and then you sign the paperwork and you walk away debt free,

Then get counseling so that you don't get into debt again,.

I recommend Dave Ramseys Financial Peace University to everyone.

We ran everything out of our Savings account for a year then opened a new account at a different bank after everything was resolved.

We paid with money orders and Cashiers checks for about 6 months.
