ppl says u have to defend looking at their waist, but i dont do that i dont get how to do it. i mean i can keep up but its only the ppl that i have defended before cause i get used to how they move. how do u tell if they are gonna do a crossover? like if they dribble to ur left then suddenly crosses over to ur right. will their waist turn fast enough for u to know that their going that way?

  1. people say look at the waist for a reason...because most people move their head arms legs etc shake n bake moves if you're watching all of that you'll be watching the guy go right past you too. it doesn't mean look at the waist the hole time really it's just a lil thing that works for some people if it doesn't work after  trying it out then don't do it i suppose

  2. Control the reactionary make the offensive player react to you not the other way around, force him to go the way you want him to go if you force him left or right you take away his moves to the other hand or 50% of his dribble moves, learn to make and use the crossover step on defense, the better the players the more you are going to need that move.

  3. Just play with instinct man. Don't try to look at a specific spot on your opponent. He'll think you're looking at his you know what...lol

Just react to whatever he's trying to do.

  4. just punch em lol

  5. u just gotta keep looking at the waist man it will work after a little. on the crossover, once they plant a foot, they are likely to do a crossover.

  6. This has worked wonders for me.

If you are being taken on 1 on 1, watch their neck. I know it sounds weird, but most people have a tendency to lean their head/neck where they want to go. Remember, not the head, but the neck.
